Living Art offers educational classes and lectures for healthcare providers and the general public regarding the use of the arts and nature to support healing. These offerings include classes through the Social Work Department at the University of Montana. These classes and workshops are mostly offered fee for service.
Living Art offers a variety workshops using the arts and nature to support healing in collaboration with other community, regional and national organizations including Camp-Mak-A-Dream, Community Medical Center, St. Patrick Hospital, the College of Technology, Great Falls Cancer Care Clinic, at conferences such as Society for the Arts in Healthcare Conferences, The Montana Brain Injury Association Conferences and Oncology Social Work conferences.
Outreach Exhibits, Performances and Publications
Living Art also promote and creates opportunities for the the use of the performing and visual arts and publications in support of holistic and integrated healthcare. Our traveling art exhibit, "Expressions for Healing", includes calligraphic poetry, masks, photographs, and art work. Over 10,000 people have seen this display at conferences and in healthcare settings in the United States and Canada. Our work has been featured in journals such as "Social Work Today" and "American Journal of Nursing". Our article "Care Beyond Cancer: the Culture of Creativity" appeared in the journal "Illness, Crisis, and Loss". Living Art is in the process of writing a book about Living Art work and poetry.
